    Hi!
I'm from kazakhstan, so my English is not ideal 🙂
I bought exactly the same printer and right now it's on the way to me. Can you help me and answer some question?
What slicer you use? Slic3er or Kisslicer?
What printer host you use? Pronterface or Repetier Host?
    What firmware? Sprinter or marlin?

Do you measure exactly noozle diameter? Is it 0.3 mm?
What maximum size you try to print?

    Thank you!

      hello Alexey,
      Thank you for your contact.

      Slic3er or Kisslicer?: Slis3r
Pronterface or Repetier Host?: Repetier Host
above two application were included in a DVD. So simply I installed them.

Sprinter or marlin?: I am not sure of it, because only I did regarding the circuit board was wiring.

exactly noozle diameter?: not measured. However I have not had any trouble by setting my nozzle diameter 0.3mm to the printer configuration which have to be set before running Repetier Host.

maximum size you try to print?: ~100mm square. I believe 170x170mm will be OK. And I think to extend the printing area to X axis direction will be not so difficult but Y axis.

Are my answers enough for you?
Please let me know if you have further questions. To support someone is my appreciate.

      regards,
      Mirata

      Hello again!
I try to print PLA – perfect, but need a good cooling system)
      ex.200-215 deg.
      pl.70-50 deg.
adh. Glue PVA in water on clear glass
      speed 60-80

try to print ABS – terrible, broke at any direction with small force)
      ex.230
      pl.120
      Clean glass

try Nylon (taulman618) – perfect, unbrokable EVER! I thing you need to try nylon – it's soft in small size about 2mm but just great at big size about 5mm.
      ex.255
      pl.0
adh.Stick glue (put on hot bed about 80 deg.)
      speed 20-40

In slicing I don't like slicer becorse a lot of strings. Now I use only Cura – don't need to do somthing after print at all. Write 2 plugin for cura for better surface and fast print.

Change from Sprinter (default) to Marlin – just great work with circles. Try it – Sprinter just idiot with any arc and circles.

Also I try to set noozle 0.32 (not 0.3) and get exactly hollow for any bolts.

I get 2 other glass. Now I use 3mm mirror 200×220 – work great and realy cheap.

Can you help me with ABS?
I don't know parameters: bed temp, extruder temp, adhession you use. And how strong is it? can you broke 5mm tall row in one hand like pencil? Can you bend it? I plan to print some detail for my car that need to get hot in summer.

Hi, many thanks for share this info, I can't understand a word of japanesse but with all the pictures and google translate I be able to use it. BTW did you notice that not using nuts between the base of the motors of the z-axis and the frame join can give you a bit more of print area? (google drive image: http://goo.gl/dYIO8p ), I mean, by expanding a bit all this side of the frame. I've upgraded the repetier host software and I'm thinking that erased my slic3r configurations, can you please post your slic3r configurations?. Thanks!.

      Hi hades,
Thank you for your posting. Your point is very nice. Exactlly that's right! I can get 10mm or more print area by removing four nuts. But hades, it's better to exchange horizonal parts for longer one, if you want to enlarge the area? The printing area can be, rather easily, expanded in cross direction, I think.
Regarding slic3r, I am just the same of your situation, actually. My setup is nealy default for now. I am trying honeycomb infill.
So it may not be your reference, excuse me.

      Thanks for posting it 😀
I can't get solids on the first and last layers of my prints, the perimeters and infill (rectilinear) appears to be fine, so I'm thinking that was something missed out on the slic3r config. I'll try your config.
With the not-nut trick you can use the full x-area, the y-area I'm thinking that is not problem at all, but also you'll need move the bed a bit, just need to remove the nuts on just one side (the opposite to the x-motor). For increase the print size on the z-area is what you said, needs a bigger pipes, in the near future I want to use a reprap i3 frame with this kit, I like the inverted T figure than the triangle, looks a lot cleaner.

      Thanks!.

      hades,

Solid layer configration is set at "Layer hight", "Vertical shells" and "Horizontal shells" box in "Layers and perimeters" of the "Print Setting" tab.
      bottom_solid_layers = 3
      top_solid_layers = 3
      perimeters = 3
      are default.
BTW I use slic3r ver 1.00 RC2 is the same with yours?

I hope you make it better.

    • hades より:

I'm using slicer v1.00 RC3, yes, I was using all standard options, but on "layer height" I had 0.2 and 0.3 on "first layer height", I'm thinking that you have it at 200% this last option, right?, the perimeters and shells are at 3. So perhaps it is the "first layer height" value what was wrong.

      Thanks.

      hades,
I recommend you to check slic3r manual.
      http://manual.slic3r.org/FirstPrint.html
because I am not fully understand each parameter.

      regarding first layer height,
manual says "A thicker layer height will provide more flow, and consequently more heat, making the extrusion adhere to the bed more. It also gives the benefit of giving more tolerance for the levelness of the bed. It is recommended to raise the first layer height to match the diameter of the nozzle, e.g. a first layer height of 0.35mm for a 0.35mm nozzle. Note: The first layer height is set this way automatically in simple mode."

      and so on.
      Also see http://manual.slic3r.org/ExtrusionWidth.html
      It says why 200%.

    • hades より:

Thanks!, I'll give a look, it seems to be the problem. I focused just on learn freeCAD and I forgot to read all printer-related, now I can use freeCAD for all I need so it is time to learn to use the printer 😛
